The night before the race

Well I becoming a bit of a bird racer now after my London bird race to spot 100 birds within the m25 in 48 hours. Still not an expert birder compared to some of the greats but still enjoy matching my love for birds with my love for a bit of competition. Any excuse to get out birding really! So my uncle and me are taking on a challenge to spot as more birds in Hampshire between the hours of 8am-5pm than my friend Steve & his bro can spot in Dorset.

The rules are simple
1. birds must be seen and not just heard
2. You are not allowed to count any birds seen outside your chosen county
3. All birds must be seen between 8am-5pm

That's it. Please feel free to compete with us representing any county you wish but i appreciate its a bit short notice. However, if your interested email me at harryboorman@hotmail.com because I'm sure we will be organising some more events like this throughout the year.

Anyway, good birding and I will let you know how we get on. Alternatively you can follow live updates of the race by following earlybirders on twitter!
